Intriguing Find: 1 Case of Albinism in a Crowned Snake

Intriguing albino crowned snake from Buderim

A client in Buderim recently asked us to identify this snake, it was something quite intriguing!

Crowned Snakes are small Elapids (fixed-fanged venomous snakes). These intriguing snakes prey on frogs, lizards and small mammals. Mostly nocturnal, they’re sometimes found in well watered gardens through he Brisbane region.

This individual is a rarity, with most Albino reptiles not surviving as they’re unable to camouflage themselves from predators.
