How to Eliminate the Confusion with Python Behaviour
During the breeding season in late Winter through Spring, pythons are often found in suburban areas searching for a mate or locked in territorial disputes. In the left hand photo two pythons are mating, while on the right two males are fighting over territory. There’s sometimes confusion because both behaviours see snakes wrapped around each other. Male combat involves constantly moving and pushing their opponent to the ground, while mating is typically very still and not often encountered.
