Here are some tips to keep your pets safe from pythons around the home

Carpet Pythons can grow quite large and so can consume big prey animals. They will eat a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles so we must be mindful of our pets, particularly through the spring and summer months when snakes are most active and hungry.

This particular snake made its way into a pet cage in a property’s garden in Bellbowrie. Our snake catcher was called to safely removed the snake.

  • Keep your pets indoors if possible, this will keep both snakes and pets safe
  • Animal cages for chickens and guinea pigs are best enclosed with fine bird mesh (holes of 5mm or smaller)
